JOYS AND SORROWS OF PRAISE

Here we are again....the beginning of Holy Week.  I encourage you to read the scriptures daily as the week moves to the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  If you need a list of scriptures, you may look at this blog's prior post on Sunday, April 2, 2023 (Because of Him).

Today we traditionally celebrate Palm Sunday, the day that Jesus rode into Jerusalem.  I find in the scriptures where he instructed his disciples how and where to get the things he needed for the entry.  They obeyed and I understand that he also told them what to tell the people.  So we all know as he rode into Jerusalem, the people put down their garments and palm fronds for his animal to walk on.  They were saying, "Hosanna!  Hosanna!"  It appeared to be a joyful time.

I was thinking, though, of Jesus and how he might have been not so joyful as he knew what was ahead.

Even as I type this today, I, myself, am experiencing sorrow and fear over things I'm caring for in my own life.  I was thinking as I read this scripture that I need to concentrate on throwing down my garments of fear and pain and let Jesus take care of them.  As I do that, I need to PRAISE him for what he has already done for me--even on that first Palm Sunday--and praise him for what he is doing for me this day, and praise him for what he WILL do in the future.

Consider.....
